I have a 2003 zo6 with 8500 mi. on the clock, and about a month ago the DIC started flashing Service Traction System, Service ABS, Service Active Handling every time i start the car.

You can stop the flashing on the DIC by pushing the reset button 3 times, but the ABS, AND TRACTION CONTROL, ICON LIGHTS on the instrument panel stay on while driving.

Has this happened to anyone else? and what was done to correct the problem? Also could someone tell me how to check for trouble codes using the DIC.

THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE, AND THANK GOD THE CORVETTE FORUM EXISTS WITH ALL OF ITS HELPFULL MEMBERS.

If you go into diagnostic mode you can clear them. If they keep coming back on, you most likely need to get the car serviced. It happened to me and I got it fixed with my extended warranty

Take the car and have the codes cleared, and see if it comes back, if it comes back there may be some type of a problem, it the cars feels right and drives right you just may have a computer glitch.

Just reseting it does nothing, it will just keep comming back untill it's cleared.

Check those stupid little grounding plugs under the hood. Both of mine went bad and I just cut them out and put good ole ring terminals on them and bolted them back to the frame. Problem solved !!!

It happened to my 02 Z. Take it into the dealer, they had to replace the entire unit, cost is about $3000.00, but should be fixed under warranty.

Check the ground, if not that, then its probably the ABS module.

If it is the EBCM you should go through ABS fixer as it's $150 vs the above quote.

Default codes

First / get the code...determine plan of action based on the code you get.
The codes can be reset by you on the DIC BUT these are codes which will determine the repair..which could be anything from a wheel bearing sensor to a ECBM failure so get the codes and take it from there.

Get those codes and post them. I got the same messages on the DIC - codes 1287 and 1288.....steering wheel position sensor. Had it replaced under warranty....no more messages or code

It is a common problem, however, just repairing or replacing the EBCM may not solve the issue. The Brake Pressure Modulator Valve (BPMV) may be the culprit that caused the EBCM to fail. If so it will need to be replaced during the repair or the new/repaired EBCM will fail again. The BPMV cost is what drives the dealer repair into the $3K range.
