Could you please post some pictures with a black bra on a Millenium Yelow car. I have it in my head I need a yellow bra but would like to see some pictures. Even the strectch kind
Thanks in advance
Barry
That's the GM bra. I have one I use on trips. I altered some of the hardware by replacing
the two side rubber mounted clips with stainless steel type similar to those which are
provided for the lower front and used them on the sides (wheel well lip) so that they
use the existing slip nut already there.

I have a black bra but bought a Speed Lingerie Yellow one. The black ones look fine i just prefer the matching colored bras, plus the Speed Lingerie was a much better brand than than what i had...

I agree that Speed Lingerie is probably the best brand available, however the price differential is huge. To fully outfit your Vette with front cover, nose cover and mirror covers, the cost is close to $900 without tax and S&H.
The GM bra is about $150 w/o mirror covers which are extra.
The spandex bras and mirror condoms are the greatest things ever. Awesome for trips, just 3 snaps on each side and it's off, wash in the washing machine, and it's stays put at 150+! (don't ask how i know this)
btw, the marker lights and turn signals show through just fine.

Reason: light comment
I bought my GM bra for $25 from a forum member, it looked like it had never even been used. I just use mine for long trips and love bug season. For the price of speed lingerie you could just have the nose repainted... twice lol
Maybe when all the bugs in the world die and they invent a road that doesn't produce road debree then I won't need a bra.
You need to put a bra on your quarter panels and on your doors then. Shopping carts could scratch your rear bumper so throw a tarp over that too.
I do hear ya about the bugs though. I drove home from Orlando to Fort Lauderdale one night taking a back route. MAN, at the end of that 3 hour trip I had a TON of guts from hundreds of bugs (and one toad) all over the front of my bumper. Then I took a hose and a soft scrubby brush and it came off. If I constantly lived in an area infested with bugs I'd get a clear adhesive bra.

This is not going to make the people selling the clear bra happy, but I've seen vehicles with that 3M product on it. Some of those vehicles look horrible after a year or two, and if you have to remove it, you'll be lucky to not rip the paint off with it. Don't take my word for it, do a search on the forum, there are plenty of stories along with pictures to illustrate what happens. I just wouldn't apply something like that to the finish, my opinion based on what I've seen. Otherwise for under $100 or more if you want to buy different brands you'll protect the finish of the front end when needed and can take a bra off when you don't need it. I have a 8 year old that is a daily driver and been on several trips, it has three little tiny marks in the finish one that was there before me and two picked up since I have had it and those occurred when I was running without the bra. But in all situations the bra has done it's job. It has protected it against debris and paint damage, and during the severe parts of love bug season. On trips you can run for several days, through all kinds of weather, get to your destination wash the bra off and remove it to dry and the finish underneath is as clean as was when you departed.
It takes but a few minutes to install or remove, so it is not a hassle to use.
And black and yellow are excellent color combinations. It's why GM puts black interior and black convertible tops on yellow vettes. It looks good so putting a black bra on just adds to the contrasting colors.
If you keep fresh coats of polish on the vette most of your bugs will wash off with the hose. So make sure you keep it fresh and you'll have less problems removing guts and bodies from the paint finish.
It's your vette and thus your choice. Personally, at $80 for a GM bra designed for the vehicle, pretty difficult to go wrong.
However, the National Corvette Museum has then in 23 different colors for C5s. Clicky
You can also google mirror covers for corvette and lots of places have them.
You should have no problem finding them though.
Thanks for the info. I checked out the mirror covers from Speed Lingerie and they cost more than the GM front nose bra.
I'm sure I can find some vinyl mirror covers to match up with the GM bra if I go that direction.
As to the bra haters, I agree that the C5 has a beautiful front nose and it should not be covered. However the reason I want one is for the occassional LD interstate road trip and for Love Bug season here in SW Florida. A buddy of mine has a bra for his Vette and during Love Bug season he puts it on and spreads some Crisco cooking oil over the front of it. After driving, he uses a soapy wrag to literally wipe off the bug guts. Works great!
My same friend also tried the nylon cover and although it does protect against bugs, he took a rock chip that cut through the nylon.
