I am getting ready to replace the covers on my seats andf thought I might as well replace the foam too while I am at it. Does anyone know a good place to get the foam?
I am only assuming it needs it. I have not sat in new seats so dont' know had bad mine may or may not be. It is a 2000 w/65K so I figure they may be ready for replacement.
The cheapest I have found so far is through CorvetteSouth. Does anyone know anything about this vendor or their products?
If you order new leather from Vette Essentials, I know they also offer the seat foam. I have also seen them run occassional promo that offers free seat foam for any new leather seat orders. Note that their leather seats average around 2K per pair.

A nine year old C5 with 65K miles needs new foam. Don't even consider replacing the skins without the foam - the end result will look like a gunney sack full of potatoes!
Try Fichtner Chevrolet parts for the best service and prices!

got mine from corvettesouth they were the best deal i could find
I've got a 99 coupe with 70M miles and I just ordered a set of foam
from Gene at GMPartshouse.com, they're cheaper than Southern but
check it out with the shipping costs.
I want my seats to look and feel new, so the new foam is a must.
I bought mine through Al Knoch and i gotta tell you they were perfect. The fit, the material, everythung was great. I paid 250 at the car show in atlantic city and they were worth every penny. good luck

And I will say that their customer support was great, fast email replies and Sandy is fun to talk to.
For high quality leather and workmanship, etc. I agree.
I recently did some business with them and through conversation, discovered that Sandy used to work for Lear. No wonder she knows seats so well. Both she and her son Matt are a pleasure to deal with.
The seat foam is a GM item, so I would think either Fichtner or Gene Culley would be the best sources.
I got mine for my C5 from Gene Culley and had Al Knoch install the custom (red piping and red band on the seat) seat covers. He said at the time that they could have supplied the foam but I already had the GM material.

I have always dealt with Vette Essentials for the foam and leathers. They are great, and the leather is much nicer then stock. Like already stated, you just have to put new foam in it. New leathers will be totally useless without the foam. Ask VE about their seat protectors aswell. They go on the seat back side bolsters, and helps the stock back not punch through where all the wear takes place on the outside bolsters.
I recently bought leathers for my 00 DD from a newer vendor here that offers a great price. I was not pleased and will spend the extra for Vette Essentials in the future.
Gene is great to deal with, so if stock is what you want, he is definately the one to deal with.
