I saw a post for the clear plastic front in wrap. Thought I had it bookmarked.Did a search but cant find the post. Anyone help? Also has anyone tried the stuff. I was thinking there was 2 different kind? Thanks for any help
Cleartastic is one brand. You will get tons of opposite opinions on this. My car must have had some on it at some point because there is some on the side of the hood that was not removed. It had already turned black when I bought the car. It is an EXTREME pain in the a$$ to remove and I still haven't gotten all of it off. My car is an 04 so the max it could have been on there is 4 years when I bought it. I personally will never put this stuff on any of my cars. But you will get good stories from others.

Incorrect.
The biggest problem is that the name Cleartastic has become the name used, when people talk about any paint protection film. Sort of like scotch tape.. or velcro (name brands).
So when someone has paint protection film applied, they say "I had Cleartastic put on..."
The 2 biggest factors about Original Cleartastic is that it has NO glue. Which is why it would never have the issues your describing in your post.
Only the new Cleartastic plus has a mild adhesive but that just came out with in the year and it does not have residue problems.
The other factor is that both are designed so that you. the enthusiast can apply it your self. No need for an installer

TKO Peformance is correct. I was just there a few weeks ago and purchased the kit for the wheel wells. Cant tell it is on and there is no adhesive. Just spray some soap and water and voila' ......paint protection.

I had my front end and rear view mirrors done with the 3M Clear Bra by a well recommended local installer and I love it. It is almost impossible to see, won't yellow and it protects the impact areas. Cost me about $400. Find a competent, local installer who Corvette people in your area recommend.
I just finished removing all the 3M bra crap off my 2002. They are correct, it is a real PITA to remove. I bought the car in 2007 and it had already been installed years prior. Whoever had the car previously must have hit the hood section with a buffer because it was dull looking and no longer transparent. It had been installed along the rockers, lower doors, behind front and rear wheels, hood, front bumper cover, headlight doors, license plate and rear bumper cover on top next to hatch opening. All the areas came off pretty well. You just have to work it with both hands. It will wear blisters on your fingers so be prepared for that. My 3M stuff had a nasty yellow tint to it as I pulled it off. Most areas came off with out too much trouble, but the front bumper cover was/is a PITA. I have it all pulled off but it has a real powerful adhesive. I am currently using the 3M adhesive cleaner on it, waiting a few minutes for it to soak in and then dragging a razor blade very carefully across and wiping the sticky bugger into a shop towel. I hate this stuff and would never put it on any vehicle. Plus it makes is a huge PITA when waxing because you have to remove any buildup from all the edges after the wax dries. I am completely disassembling my baby right now and will be painting her in the next few weeks. Going from Black to Electron Blue.
