I have a 2002 Coupe, MN6, Z51 package. The car is in great shape and we’re going to do a few minor mods just to keep things fun. First up will be C5 Z06 wheels and tires. My plan is to stay with stock offsets and sizes. However, some of the tires I’m looking at are not available in the stock 265/40-17 for the front; I would have to go to 275/40-17. My wife and I Autocross 4-5 times per year and we’re starting to do some track days, so I want to be careful that I don’t overstress the front suspension with the new front tires, or generate so much neutral steering that the car becomes twitchy.
Anybody have negative experience with the 275 size on the front of a C5 coupe or Z06?

I run a 275-35x18 in front on my car. The overall diameter is 25.7". The 275-40x17 is 25.6" overall diameter - I think you'll be fine as long as the wheel is at least 9" wide.
Matt - thanks. I did start over in the Autocross/Track section with a similar question a few weeks ago. I thought I'd try this one and see if I get more responses. So far, I'm encouraged.
It pays to do research. The last time I bought front tires I was going to get Kumho SPT's in a 275/35-18 however the 265 in that tire is less than .2" narrower section width, looked like the exact same tread width, and more than half a pound lighter weight.
