Im screwed!! I need some advice from you guys. I slapped some valves last year in my C5 and enlisted the help of a former friend of mine to fix it. We decided to just get a whole different motor because the damage was pretty bad. So he went ahead and found a 6.0L iron shortblock, LS6 heads, a big *** cam, and a few other parts that would put me on the right track towards more power. He has been doing work on cars for a while now and said that everything will bolt right up to eachother and I wouldnt have any issues. Well after 600 miles of breaking it in, the motor took a dump. I was just driving to work and it started running like crap. I pulled over and had it towed back to my friends house so he could take a look. Since looking at it, he said that something inside the block was damaged due to my abuse and that he didnt have the time to fix it. So I had it towed to my local car shop and i had the techs look at it. They pointed out that one of the fans was not connected, numerous sensors were melted, there was anitfreeze in the oil, anitfreeze in the intake manifold, along with a decent oil leak and power steering leak, and many other things. I just dumped almost 5000 dollars into it for it to break after 600 miles. What the hell do i do???? any advice would be greatly apprectated!!!!

What specifically in the block was damaged?
If the oil and coolant are mixed, could be a few causes.
I know this isn't going to come as any major relief, But if there was antifreeze in the combustion chamber the pistons are most like froze to the rings or the other way around, but at this point it's of little difference. IF I Were You, I'd have it stored somewhere with or without the shot motor/motors till you are able to have both engines taken to a Corvette Professional shop. See what is salvageable, ( I wouldn't put the iron block back in, but) then after you have saved enough to have the shop rebuild was left and or can be used, build a new engine, test it, then tow the car to the shop and someone with real experience put the new engine in the car, get up and running, IE: all sensors working and the engine running as it should then go back to driving the car.
However, If your going hammer it, I'd just sell it off and count your blessings. I'm not finding any blame for this, that's for you to discover. But I'd give some serious consideration to how you drive. There are some guys who know what is running a engine hard and then you have those who just abuse a perfectly good car. We all know or have known the particular types. (Professional drag racers know what to do and when to do it without blowing the engine into a thousand pieces) They can't afford to trash a good engine just cause they missed a shift. But Never the less, good luck with your situation and I hope it all works out OK for you !

I didnt have the repair shop rip anything apart. my "friend" just left me hanging as soon as he heard the car and i just wanted to see what happened. They told me that they really wont know until they take it apart.

thanks man. I learned pretty quickly after I broke it last year. This time around with the car running again I never missed a shift, or drove the hell out of it. I was still breaking it in. I thought granny shifting was a good thing during break-in. And another thing- do the LS6 heads bolt up perfectly with the iron block? and using LS1 gaskets? The douche bag told me that it will all work great.
