Maybe take it to the local quick stop oil change palce and let them change the oil. Bring a new plug and tell them the one in there is rounded. I'm sure they have dealt with this before.

Yeah I might just do this, except my car may be too low for the rails that surround the hole in the ground, lol. My friend is manager at such a place and when I brought my M3 through you would always hear *clink *clink *clink from my exhaust hitting...

If the oil change place has rails or tubes along the pit, forget it. Your car is too low

Thought so, the M3 was too low as well. The front lip was dragging over the rails...

Do these have flats where you can get a 6 point wrench on them? There is not room for a regular socket due to the cross member.
I believe they do. It's been awhile since I had to use them but if you look at the picture, the outside looks to be set up for a wrench.

After an afternoon of fighting with it, I was finally able to break it loose with the Craftsman 10 pc. Damaged Bolt/Nut Remover Set. I replaced it with a magnetic plug from Autozone. As you can see it was quite a pain to remove:

Wow all this for a rounded plug?

Vice grips could have done the job in 10 seconds. It would have taken another 5 minutes to drive to ANY automotive store to get another plug. Mine is from NAPA and is magnetic and cost like $10

The vice grips did NOT work. I tried them for at least an hour. It probably took me another hour to even get the Craftsman tool to work, each tool just kept removing more material from the head of the bolt...

It must be because GM used such high quality bolts...

I wonder if a pipe wrench would have worked also? they are quite large so i don't know if there would have been room to use one. The harder you pull, the tighter they get.
