I wouls ay 30 mins at highway speed should get it going again, but a full charge would take longer.

Park the car and hook up a battery charger. These modern Corvettes NEED full voltage at all time to avoid electrical glitches.

Just charging the battery only to the point that the car will crank won’t cut it.

If it goes dead again shortly, you will have to find the electrical drain (if there is an abnormal drain) or replace the bad battery.

When my battery died i just jumped it and let it sit at idle for an hour and now it is good as new never had a problem. And it was really dead too, Like sitting for 3 months while I was in Iraq and the wife forgot to start it dead.

Buy a trickle charge, they are cheap and do a good job of keeping the battery up if you don't drive it often.

If you jump start most modern cars, It's risky to jump start it and let the alternator do the charging, like burning up the regulator inside it.

Best advice for a vehicle sitting a long time. If I know I'll be gone more than 3 days, I hook up my charger.

The cars alternator is to maintaine the full charge on the battery and supply the vehicle with the voltage needed to run the car after it starts.Charging a dead battery with the alternator puts a strain on it which could lead to early failure.A battery charger is much cheaper than a new alternator and a good item to have.

Definitely not good for the alternator. Use a charger.

X2,,,I'm an avid reader of various car magazines,,mostly ones like Car Craft and Chevy High Performance. They often have articles by industry people,,and one fact published stuck with me,,regarding this very topic. It is VERY hard on modern alternators trying to charge a dead battery. The heat generated will most likely shorten the life of the alternator!! As stated a charger is a LOT cheaper!!

I'd just put it on a charger and then wait to take the ride until the battery is fully charged.
