Default Slow guages?

Do the C5's or C5 Z06's have a slow tach? I have an LS1 Camaro and I know that our tach's are a little slow, like if i am doing a burnout, i will hit the rev limiter when the tach reads around 5500, not even near 6200 where it should. It this the same issue with the C5's? Or did GM just do this to keep the Camaro less of a car than the vette?

Also the temp guages in the Camaro's is a dummy guage. It reads dead center no matter what temp it is really at, only time it moves is if it is about to over heat. I trust this is also no an issue with the vettes?

temp in vettes is a realy gauge, and u can get an exact temp frm the dic. Never really noticed the tach being slow, however I do think the hud is a bit behind in its response. but only a tick.

But i mean is the temp gauge accurite or does it just sit in one spot no matter what? I know i can get a digital reading from the dic. I really just wanted to know if the tach can move fast enough if there is rapid rpm change.

Temp gage should show the actual temperature of the engine and move accordingly.

Awsome. Is the tach up to speed as well? Or does it lag a bit?

The tach has always been the subject of speculation here with respect to being overdamped. Many of us have installed shift lights that activate at a preset rpm and discovered the light is activated noticeably sooner than the corresponding tach gauge indicator.

If you get a hud, it comes with a shift indicator!
