Backorder Blues ?

Backorder Blues ?
Curious how many of us are going through backorder disorder this year?
I've ordered from one of our venders twice this year and each time I had to wait for the order to be shipped because one or more of my items were "backordered". The present order was placed 6/7/09, the first week only 1 item was "in stock", the 2nd week they had two of my items, as of today the third item is STILL backordered.
I wonder if it's a "thing" reflected by the economy ? Wide spread?

In general, when retail turns south, retailers cut orders to manage inventory. Its a delicate balance to maintain proper inventory and not get caught with excess stock. Retailers want to inventory what you want to buy but don't want to sit on old stock they will need to clear out at a discount. That is bad for the profit margin.

I do think its related to the economy in that some vendors are putting some good special prices out there - and Corvette owners know a good deal when they see it - and jump all over it.... like the "run" on C6 sway bars right now.
