My Project before and now......
Well guys, I know alot of you have been wondering about my so called project and some of you know that I originally sold my car to a forum member about 2 years ago to a local guy in the lower part of the state. Well, to make a long story short, he hydroplaned in it and hit another car head on around 40 mph. The car was totaled out and the insurance co auctioned the car off. I have a local salvage yard that I drive by every week looking for repairable wrecks and just so happened I saw what appeared to be my vette sitting on the yard. I knew it couldn't be, but guess what? You guessed right, it was my car and how it came back up to the upper part of the state I will never know. It was like it wanted me to buy it back, lol. So I did with the intentions of replacing the complete front clip. As I started looking for a front clip, a forum member happened to have a clean title Nassau Blue FRC that needed a complete interior, complete driveline and suspension along with a few other needed parts that I could easily transfer over from my Z06. It has now since taken on a slightly new appearance and getting some upgrades . I decided rather than to weld in a front clip to the car to go with a donor car with a clean title. The donor car is a rare (1 in 400 made in a 2 year span) '99 Nassau Blue FRC. It has been very well maintained and has less mileage (40k) than my '01 Z06 did(44k). Everything from my Z06 will be put into the donor car. It may not be a true Z06 by vin, but it will be a true Z06 conversion and not just a clone. As I go along, updates will follow. With me going to College and working, time is very slim. Well on to the pics.........

Donor car ('99 NB FRC)
Donor car has been stripped basically other than the wiring to go through an extensive cleaning and undercarriage sanding and rust preventative applied. Been a fun project so far!

Currently the interior is done other than the center console as I can't put that in until I get the torque tube in due to the shifter. Gauge cluster will be a one of a kind, so it isn't installed yet either. Now as for the exterior, I still need to get the rear quarters and bumpers painted. They are just sitting on the car. Front crossmember and suspension has been installed along with a nice set of Bilstein Sport shocks. Torque tube and rear suspension was removed in one piece and am currently waiting for a different tranny harness. Motor is also out awaiting a ECS blower cam along with the necessary components and underdrive pulley. Also will be installing a textralia clutch assembly since I'm this far into it,lol.

Thanks! The guy and his passenger walked away unhurt. Both were very lucky. I can't wait to see the finished project either. It's just not coming fast enough, lol.
I see in your post you said you were putting in a blower cam and an underdrive pulley. If you plan on installing a blower you DO NOT want a underdrive pulley. You have to spin the blower harder to make the same boost as a stock dia. pulley. If anything a overdrive pulley or just stock. Don't forget to pin it while your there.

Thanks guys! I hope to have this project completed.....well.... by the end of the year, lol. Hopefully it will not take that long. Just depends on how much time I get to actually work on it. I have had this project going for about 6-7 months now, so the pics are not all at one time, lol. Once the engine gets back in and is running, then I will focus on the paint. I have two new rocker panels that will need the brake ducts for the rear cut into them. The original rocker panels on the blue car were beat up pretty badly, so the previous owner had already saved me the time to go ahead and partially remove them. BTW, try doing all of this without a lift!!!
