The other day there was a thread about a member ordering new seat skins and foam. One of the posts mentioned that the foam was probably broken down because the member didn't use the proper way to get into his C5. I could only come up with butt first and right foot then your butt and both methods caused you to slide over the side bolsters. Anybody have any other ways? Not counting taking the top off and climbing in from above.
Open door....stand 90 degrees to car facing away from door opening...sit down..swing right leg in, then left leg in....Buckle up....VROOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!
Are people really having trouble getting into c5s? Wow. I would try doing some toe touchies every now and again.
I've thought about it for a little bit now. I stand facing the front of the car and just kinda bend down and I'm in. Don't really see how getting in could do much damage.
My guess would be a large sized category 3 squirmer could do some major cover and foam damage.
WELLLL,,I must admit at my age it may NOT be the most graceful entry,,but it doesn't seem to be doing any harm to the seat!! It often involves a slight plop for about the last 3-4 inches!! At 6'2" and 62 years of age it ain't always easy to be graceful,,especially if somebody parks a little too close !!
Matt,I used to jokingly do the Dukes of Hazzard hood slide. Then came the day I had a pair of jeans on and a rivet just happened to catch the right spot and left a big scratch on my brothers hood.
fat guys shouldn't own vettes? uh oh. How about old fat guys? Have to admit, getting in AND OUT are a bit of a challenge, but I manage it. It still feels good when I'm in it.

I suspect some have not seen their toes in years
I have rods in my back and can get in by putting my a$$ first!!!
I get tired of the seat and wheel moving away from each other everytime I remove the key. Need to read the manual on how to defeat this operation. Have to push the dang memory 1 button just to be able to press the clutch pedal to the floor.
My only problem is that I park the Vette as far over from my other car in my garage to reduce potential door dings, etc. As a result, I have little room to open the Vette driver's door against the wall so I sometimes tend to fall into the Vette more than sitting down.
Note - not a body mass issue, just a logistics issue.

Go through the options on the DIC. It's in there. I like it because it does make it easier to get in / out when the seat goes all the way back.

All you do in options is turn easy entry off, Something like that.
