Side vent screens are functional...
So I installed my side vent screens tonight and thought they were just for looks but found out they will be functional. While opening up the cover to access the right hand vent I found a ton of twigs and leaves in there and upon further inspection, determined the only way that stuff got in there was from a bird who was building a nest inside the fender! The previous owner didn't drive the car much and it sat for a while. So like the screens you put over your chiminny to keep animals out, so too will these screens serve a similar function...who knew that was needed
Notice for PETA members: No animals real or imagined were harmed in the installation of these screens or in the writing of this post

I knew it !
About 6 months ago when I installed my screens, the wife asked what they were for.
(it never occurs to her I may just be installing something because I like the way it looks)
I told her they were "To keep the rats out"
She said "Well I hope we don't have rats",and walked away.
.
.
Sometimes I feel sorry for her.....

I have a set of screens also. Looks so much better than just having a big hole in the fender.

My first thought was a pack rat,,,,but they only nest in Mustangs,,,,they know their nest won't get blown away unless the car owner races a vette!
