Default 2001 c5 z06 trouble help!!!

Hello people, well I was happy that I had just installed a dual coldair intake on my vette, but that same day I began to get the check engine light. It was the p0174 code system too lean (bank 2). Daim that's what I didn't want to happen, codes start popping out as soon as I installes the intake. Well I just changed it back to the factory airbox. What was the reson for that code? And well I don't know if it just freaked me out but I also noticed my coolant temperature goto around 230.. is that a normal temp for this hot days I was on the dredfull 405 to 5 interchange..lol..thanks for the help.. ohh and I bought this dual chrome intake from this guy. Its exactlly like the one on westcoastcorvette.com website ( chrome dual airfilter intake). After buying it I noticed right next to the air filter on thhe chrome tubeing their was a small hole drilled onto it like a little bit bigger than a nickle possibly a quarter size. But I don't know if anything goes there? Thanks again and sorry for the long post.. lol

I think the mass air sensor is suppose to be installed in the 'little' hole. Thats probably why your check engine light was on. Buying stuff on ebay without instructions can be costly! My advice is to buy only from a reputable retailer!

Well when I bought the car it came with a hiflow power duct. U can see my pics and see the duct there. I believe the maf sensor is just after the power duct then its the airbox so I wouldn't been able to put the sensor in the hole since the sensor is big and only way it goes in is attached to the powerduct. Ohh the sensor says delphi, I believe its the brand.

clear the codes..
then re install the cold air.
make sure verything is tight!
use a small rachet/socket combo insted of a screwdriver
happened to me. no more codes after rachet was used.
i check it every 2 or 3 months to make sure everything is tight..

That small hole is for the tube that runs down to your AIR pump under the nose of your car. It's a smog thing. If you old CIA didn't have one, then the previous owner deleted it somhow. Don't run any intake with a hole in it not going anywhere. Your engine will be breathing unfiltered air. Same as running no air filter at all.

Well what if I somehow weld that hole together. Will I be able to use that intake? Will the dual airintake make any diffrence in my coolant temperature? Is that hole causing that code ( system too lean bank 2 ) to come out
