O.K. I'm an idiot. I was leaving a friends house today and the road was clear and I got that ''urge'' to kinda hammer the old Vette. I thought that I had put it in 3rd [auto] but I guess it was in drive. At about 60, at full throttle, I manually shifted into what I thought was drive! guess what, It was nutral and the engine really reved before I realized what was going on. Aparently no damage to the motor but I keep wondering wht the revs were? [Thank God for the limiter or I would be in deep doodoo! I feel stupid but everthing seems O.K.!

It's like depends,keeps the **** from flying out the tailpipe
Btw,I think the stock rev limiter is set somewhere around 6,200 rpm's?
Not exactly sure,but around there

I thought I might have hurt my "baby". I am an "old hot rodder" but I am not used to rev limiters an d such. I'm really feeling my age doing something stupid like that!

The rev limiter is there to keep you from doing any serious damage - you should be fine.
