OK.... I can't decide which to go with. I've been down this road before and it's making me nuts. It's between BB Bullets, Stingers or the nxt step system. I've heard all the ones on Youtube but lets face it thats hard to figure out which sounds better because it depends on the cam that shot the Vid and all that stuff. There also seems to be some deals on here with people selling used ones..mostly because they have decided they are too loud or the wifey doesn't like them.
SO..... here's my question/questions.... I'd like to hear all three of them does anyone have them (not all three of course) and are there any shows near Phila soon that I could give a listen to decide. I have a stock 99 coup just looking for cat backs to get rid of the stock exhaust which I JUST CAN'T STAND anymore.
Also, do I NEED an x pipe, Is the back fire pop that bad?
And how safe is it to buy a used pair? Has anyone done that and how did it work out for you?
So there ya go.... I know what I want the car to sound like and the BB and stingers are damn close...Have never heard the Nxt Step live that I know of.
I'm also looking for pic of tips as well... I want to quad tips for my car so all of this info will help me decide. I want to get this done real soon
Thanks all
Bullets are really loud, just so you know. They do have a slight drone below 2000 rpm, but nothing serious. Indy
yes I keep hearing about the drone and some people HATE it and some don't seem to mind it much. It's the people that say they put them on and week later they had to take them off that worry me about them. I don't think it would bother me but when you read stuff like that it makes you wonder. All that being said i would assume that BB had some drone as well. I think in either case I can live with it being that my cars not a DD.
Thanks for your input.

All three of those will drone - but as you stated, some people claim it doesn't bother them. If not - then the choice is yours. Personally - I don't want to hear the exhaust 100% of the time, I want to hear it when I have my foot in it - but when I'm cruising, I'd rather listen to Shania Twain singing than annoying drone.....my opinion.
I like the idea of hearing what I'm driving so I assume it's not going to bother me all that much. I've had 2 other Corvettes but they all had the stock exhaust on them and I was always pissed I didn't change them. I'm set on the idea but I want the one that will rumble by even at 30/40mph. I hear them on other Vettes if they drive pass and I like the head turn reaction, Sounds the way to car should sound...just want to see which one looks (tips) and sounds like what I'm looking for.

I think you're missing the point. The exhaust system has a sound that is audible standing on the street as you go by - that isn't what drone is.
Here is the definition of drone from Corsa's web site:
Drone (also known as resonance) is the byproduct of sound energy generated by your engine exhaust interacting with the body structure of the car. The engine and flow noises are amplified by the trunk and cabin cavities. This results in a low frequency, dull, thrumming sound that can be very annoying. Certain low frequency sounds can even make people sick and nauseous. This is the drone or resonance people refer to when talking about most aftermarket exhaust systems. You will typically not notice this drone when at idle or accelerating hard- it becomes very apparent at highway cruising speeds (actual speed and level of drone depend on vehicle and engine combo).
My Corsa's (Indy Pace Car with Long Tube Headers and an X-pipe) definitely have a rumbling sound, and when you go WOT - they are pretty loud. But when cruising on the freeway in top gear - there is no drone as defined above.

Yes I know thats not the drone people are talking about.
Here is a shameless plug for what I think is the best one out there... sounds MEAN at WOT and will give a good rumble at all RPM. The video is completely stock except a Vararam and the Corsa.
you really need to hear systems live and see what other mods that have been done most engine mods change the sound of a system lths high flow cats cams good luck with your choice

OP, how did you pick these three? You obviously want loud, eh?? Well, may I suggest going on the cheap like me?! I had the corsa indy and b&b prt's on my 99 and '01 years ago and almost dropped the $1200 on another corsa for my "new" frc purchased 6 months ago. But instead I took the biggest drill bit I could find and drilled 8 .5 inch holes (4 each side) in the down-turn of my stock exhaust right before the mufflers, sounds great! You may need a few more holes though!

I came up with the 3 of them based on what I've read on here and I have heard a few I like and yes I want them them to be loud. And I'm ok with the BB and Stingers from what I've heard but I haven't had to deal with drone and I have seen on here where people have run them for a short time and HATED it. All that being said I don't think it'll bother me all that much. Just wanted some feed back from people that really HATED the drone and people that don't think it's that big a deal and I wanted to see tip size... I've seen some that were or seemed to be a bit bigger than other.. I want that as well.
The Nxt Step system people seem to like as well but I've never seen or heard them so I just wanted more feed back!
