Default DIC Personalization

Did any C5s come with the DIC ability to personalize like the C6s have?

i.e. adding your name in the Welcome like you can on the C6

Nope - personalization isn't possible, but in exchange for the ability to add a personalized greeting, you retain the ability to read error codes on your C5.....can't do that on a C6. Which would you rather have?

if that is true, then that is a great point and reason #327 why the c5 has the edge over c6's........lol j/k.

LOL wow, seems like a huge disadvantage then to move on from the C5 to the C6 system.

For the low rate of $599, I can personalize your instrument cluster. I will use any color paint pen of your choice.

You can't reset your key fobs on a C6 like you can on a C5 either. You need a Tech II tool to do it, and you need a special radio transmitter to reset your TPMS, too....

No C5 came the way you mention - only the C6s can be personalized on the DIC. Would be nice if someone could figure out a way to do that on the C5, but so far it hasn't happened.

I think what happened is that GM saw a few more ways to bend us over when they came out with the C6. They saw the C5 family here on the forum and what we were able to do without having to bring the car to the stealership and decided to make some changes so C6 buyers had to spend more money at the stealerships.

You can write your name on it in magic marker.

Unless you are talking about the car...........
