1-ignition to RUN but do not start
2-wait until all the idiot lights go out (engine light should be the only one to remain on)
3-slowly depress the gas peddle to the floor (take at least 15 seconds to gradually push it to the floor, do not waver as you push)
4-slowly release gas peddle to full up (again, take at least 15 seconds to gradually let it back up, do not waver as you let up)
5-ignition to off
6-DO NOT START IMMEDIATELY! Allow to sit for up to 10 mins+, then start and check for difference in response and linearity.
That sounds very interesting. I have always found that my throttle response has a slight dead zone at the very beginning of travel. I always thought this was normal since it is computer controlled. I would just tighten up my throttle cable in my previous cars and that would be that. But, I always wondered if C5's throttle response could be improved without having to resort to reprogramming.
I have a Mercedes CLK 500 that in order to reset the ECU to train for your style of driving you must follow those same steps. Only difference is you just hit the accelerator to the floor for 5 seconds and let go.

Has anyone else tried this yet? I just would like to keep this thread alive and would love to hear from the vette experts out there on whether there is any merit in doing this.
Read the service manual should do a idle calibration if battery disconnedted
Its in the service manual. Not what I remember..... The jist is that if you don't do it it will eventually recalibrate in 50 or 100 miles by normal driving. Someone who can extract and type much better than me can post the procedure. Something like run car at 2000 rpm for x mins with AC on, then x mins with AC off. I believe you also shift from drive to neutral. RTFM BIGHANK
For those here that tried this calibration and didn't notice a difference, have you also had your car previously tuned? Some tuners will already adjust the settings for the throttle so that it's more responsive, so doing this method wouldn't make it any better than it already is.
From what I get out of the service manual this should be done after batt disconnect

The manual says to do this after disconnecting the battery. This implies volatile memory not something which is permanent or semi-permenant like a tune in EPROM.BIGHANK
