So car was in the garage getting cleaned up for a car show coming up. I had the doors open. One of the kids or maybe the dog decided to get in the car and knock it out of gear. Anyway, it rolled back against the garage door. That didn't hurt it. But then my son opened the door before I knew what was going on it was bouncing against the car.
Here are the results of that.
So I worked on it for a while it looks so much better already, but this is the best I can get it. Looks like i need a new paint job now.

Get some factory touch up paint and go to a detail shop.
Had some scratches on a sport bike, ABS plastic, and the detail shop was able to make it look good as new.
It's worth a try before a high dollar re-paint.
that's an extremely easy fix, just polish it, the clear is very hard on corvettes. I hope that isn't polisher burn on the edge, have to be careful with that. What are you using to polish? From the looks of it most of that is in the clear coat.
I on the other hand, had a garage door really screw mine up yesterday.
I haven't polished it at all yet. I used a little mothers scratch remover on it and it did help, but not all together.
I'm open to what to try and polish with? I have a car show next week that this just makes me cry.
I have the same color Navy Blue Metallic. I woud start with some 2000 grit wet sand paper after it has soaked in some water with a drop or two of soap for about 30 minutes. Very lightly sand over the scratched areas and use a paper towel or absorbent cloth to check your progress on a very regular basis. (If you have not wet sanded paint before you may want to take to a body shop as it does not take much to sand all the way through the clear). The finish will begin to look very dull as you wetsand and lighty reduce the surface to become even with the scratches. Depending on how deep the scratches are you may be able to wetsand them out and then use a product such as 3M Rubbing compound or Finesse It II to bring the clear coat back to a great shine. You can polish by hand and it will likely take approx. 3 - 5 applications and hand buffing to bring the shine back, or if you have a Porter Cable or the like, it will make a lot quicker work of it. I then usually move to Menzerna Intense Polish followed by the Menderza Final Polish II. If you do not have the Menzerna, the 3M followed by you favorite polish will work. Good luck.
Even if you are able to polish this out, as describes in the post above [ good instructions, by the way] which assumes that the damage is restricted to the clear coat layer, you will be left with a very thin clear....I would strongly suggest taking this to a good auto painter who can examine it and determine if the scratches go into the base coat or not. If not, then the pro can properly prep the surface and ADD more clear, leaving you with a proper surface thickness of clear.
If you are not familiar with finish sanding paint and the 'touch' it requires in hand wet sanding, even with such fine cutting papers as 2000 and 3000 grit, you could easily go into the color coat...If that were to happen, you WILL be visiting the paint shop for a total re-shoot of the rear. If you do need a total repaint, you might be able to save a hundred bucks by removing and re-installing the bumper cover at home. These parts are most often removed from the car for painting. Some really good painters can even get away doing an undetectable blend, which would not require the bumper cover be removed. BASF actually markets a system to the professionals for small area repairs that effectively blends metallic base coats and retires full thickness to the clear overcoat.
Best of luck.....

man that hurts - sorry that happened - I see tons of cars around with the obvious garage door scrapes on the bumper. I too would wet sand and polish - should help a lot but if it has to be painted, very few Vette bumpers match 100% anyway.
