I've had my car almost a year and haven't even jacked it up yet. My car is lowered so I guess I need a low profile jack to get under it. I went to Harbor Freight and looked at theirs but they looked really cheap. What are some of the ones that you guys are using and what did they cost you?

I have asked this same ? a few times with many post replies and honestly most have pointed me to Harbour freight....Ive done tons of research on these and I keep going back to HF as well...which is where im actually heading to this morning, as we have a store nearby. You will hear everything from Costco, Sears, Kmart, PepBoys etc...but many will still say HF...
To be honest, floor jacks are basically are "throw aways" these days. They don't last long, before they start leaking. I suggest going w/over kill in regards to liftng capacity, which is hard to do when going w/ low profile.Just so you know, don't be miss led thinking that going w/ Sears Craftsman will keep you from the leaking jack symdrome. Ask me how I know. For every 1 stateing they have no problems they're close to 10 that have problems w/ their Craftsman & other brand name jacks. Research some more and good luck finding a decent one.

Get a low profile jack! I went with the standard jack that only jacks up to about 13 inches at first. I just bought a low profile jack and it's amazing. I will never go back to the small jack. I got it at Wal Mart for $98. It's been good so far. I have no complaints.
I've had a little one from Walmart that has worked flawlessly for years. Currently using it in conjunction with my kwiklift. It was only $50.
I also have a $15 one from a local auto parts store that's 8 years old, with no problems.
Then I read about people blowing $200-300 on nice floor jacks that only last a year, maybe two.
$100 aluminum low-pro jack from costco. Been using it on my lowered 97 for 2 years now. The pad on this one is roughly the same size as a jacking puck so i don't need to use one as long as i line it up correctly.

I have a low profile heavy duty jack that I bought at Costco for $99 that I've had for about three years now. It's rated at 3.5 tons, which is more than enough to lift the whole car.
My car is lowered too - I can slip the jack under the rear cross member with a block of wood, and lift the whole rear....then I place the car on jack stands. Once it's up like that - I can go around to the side and use the jacking pucks that I have to lift the front and place another jack stand.
I've got a mini jack that I got from Wal-mart over ten years ago. I've used it literally over a thousand times, and it still works great. I wish the company made a low profile model.
COSTCO stopped carrying and promoting that floor jack..no longer on the site and I asked this morning and they said its discontinued...hmmmm not a good sign...dont risk your life, put out some money on a solid jack and stands!!!!!
I use a inexpensive ($35) for a 1.5 ton regular floor jack (have 2 of them), drive the car upon 2 - 2x10's. I have a craftsman ATV/Riding mower 1500 #'s, that I use to stabilize the car w/ the use of the other jacks. If I'm crawling under ...... I use wood cribbing as floor jacks as another safety factor.
I have the low profile two piston jack from Harbor and I really like it. My car isn't lowered but it slides under the front with a 2 X 6 on top of it with room to spare. Even better on the rear. I got mine before they went on sale. They're very reasonable.
I have a 4000 lb Craftsman that my wife bought for me 4 years ago and has never failed to work..I've used it on the T/A racecar and now on the Vette.Although since lowering the car it wouldn't fit under the front without getting it up slightly with another jack..So I recently purchased the 3000 lb race jack from Harbor Freight..The jack fits under the front bumper gaurds with no problems and once I get the front up I can slip the bigger jack in on the pucs...Here are a few shots of the jacks because I lowered a friends Z06 this afternoon...
I painted my calipers this week so I needed a jack for the first time. I found a Torin Big red low profile aluminum "racing jack" at Tractor Supply for $129. Works great and it looks cool too!
