Anybody do the rocking seat fix and then it won't work?
All buttons work except the track one. It won't go back.
Did I zero clearance it too much?
I noticed what I think is the motor (the silver cylinder shaped, mounted right under the front seat and above the black box) is very hot to the touch. I unplugged it until I decide what to do next.
Thanks,
Rock
This happened to me also . Make sure you have not swapped the sides of the aluminum block that are treaded . If one is backwards the motor s will work against each other and not move the seat. Let that motor cool off as mine stopped working when it got hot. Take the seat apart again and make sure you can easily turn the treaded rods thru the plastic washers and aluminum block. I had to drill my plastic washers a little and grease it well. Put it back together and it worked. I think I got lucky. Not such a easy repair
Thanks for the reply. I bet that's where the problem is. I remember thinking when I was putting it back together if it mattered which end of the aluminum block I started on the screw. Do they both turn the same way or is one left handed and the other right handed?
Thanks,
Rock
It still won't run. It does appear the threaded rods are left and right handed. I did one side at a time so I know the rods aren't switched. It has to be the aluminum blocks. I took it apart again and turned one of the blocks around and it still won't go back. I'm done for tonight. I guess tomorrow I'll switch the other block around. Eventually I'll get the right setup.
Are there no "experts" on repairing the seat tracks?
I can't figure out why it won't work. The threaded rods will turn a split second and that's it. I've taken it apart several times and nothing seems to work.
Thanks,
Rock
The aluminum blocks are left handed and right handed threads. I remember that I had to start on one the rod by turning it clockwise and the other by turning it counterclockwise. I used a very good teflon type grease and made sure ther plastic washer were not to tight and it worked. Guess I got lucky
Brian,
I got my seat working and you won't believe what did it for me. I loosened the two torx #25 screws (the ones that holds the aluminum block in place) and it started moving. I didn't feel like I had them too tight but now I just barely snugged them and it works.
Thanks for your help,
Rock
