Thanks for the link, that stuff looks really good I might give it a try. So you basically spray that on the grimey parts of the engine, let it sit and then wash it off?
Been using Simple Green for years on my vette and street rod. Spray on, let sit for 5-10 minutes, spray off with garden hose, blow off any water remaining with air compressor. You'll be amazed!
I use this method. I wait until the engine is hot, then I usually go to the do it yourself carwash with the hand wands. Spray the soap on the engine, rest the hood on the hinges. This will let the soap soak and help loosen up stubborn dirt. I then wash the rest of the car, do the rinse etc. Then go back to the engine bay and rinse it off. By the time I get home it is 95% dry. Then I just blot up any left over water and armor all it.
I thought it was bad to get the motor wet when hot? Wont that crack the block?

Can anyone confirm that a block can crack from getting sprayed?
I agree, I have been cleaning my 2000 camaro, vette and silverado(LS6 motor) engines this way for years. As long as you dont use extreme water pressure near electrical connectors you wont have an issue. I also have never had a issue after a cleaning.

By hand I just use a old wash mit and dish soap. the steps above still apply.
One other item if you have an open element air intake either take it off or cover it with trash bags .
It can be hard to find in some areas, I get it a marine/boat supply cause non of the car places around here carry any of the 303 product line any more... Aerospace 303
