I'm returning to the states here in the next 2 months from my most recent deployment. I've got a little money saved up and have a few mods I'd like to do to my Z. My question to you all: If you had a few G's laying around, what would you do to your car? I'd like to do a heads/cam setup.. but I also like the idea of going FI... Maybe do both? I'm looking for a streetable ride, but also one that can hold it's own on the 1320.. Thanks guys!

look into gettin the engine forged
and throw a d1sc procharger on her
Spot on. Based on the mods you already have, procharger and forged internals is the best way to utilize your current mods. With the internals forged, you can even use a smaller pulley and get more power out of it.
I'm getting the transmission re-built by the Toy Shop in Pomona, CA. Additionally, I'm installing a Textralia clutch as soon as I get home.
I want to keep the stock block, and probably stock 346 rotating assembly. That being said, I'm going to search the board and see what sort of setups people are running. Anyone with any info or advice on specs please post! I'd really appreciate suggestions on what sort of heads/cam/internals/and procharger setups are optimal and efficient.
Then perhaps you can do some exterior mods. You really don't want to put more than 500RWHP down on an LS6 with stock internals if you drive your car often. 550RWHP if you drive it hard. And even then, the motor's not going to last that long.
Any reason in particular why you'd want to stick with stock internals? I can totally understand sticking with stock cubes. I'd prefer that too in my case.

When I said keep the "stock 346 rotating assembly" I meant I didn't want to go with a bigger crankshaft/stroke; just keep the stock cubes. I have no problem doing a h/c swap, and having to swap out rods, springs, retainers, etc if need be. Sorry for not being more clear.
I was going the h/c route but I didnt want to have the cam lope and everything else that came with doing that. So I am going to just save up and go Twin Turbo and leave everything else as it is. Low boost Im sure will keep me happy.

Yeah, I got that. But you can stick with 346 and still have forged internals. That way you can put as much strain the motor as you want. Forging the internals will allow you to put a blower on the car and NEVER worry about blowing the motor up (assuming you have a good tune).
Being that you are in Blue Springs... you aren't far from ProCharger. Check out MC Racing. See if they have a shop car with a D1 that they will take you for a ride in.
