[Z06] 01Z oil consumption

01Z oil consumption
I was told that the 01Z's had an oil consumption problem. Was this a universal problem or just a few isolated issues? Can someone explain exactly what the problem was and if its a concern when searching for a z........thanx in advance.........

Any cars that had issues have most likely been taken care of under warranty long ago.... forget about it.
LS1 engines have been burning oil from day ONE when kept at a high rpm. It wasn't until the LS6 showed up where the engines really were driven hard all the time did the "media" grab onto the notion of burning oil...
Hence the '01's have an oil burning stigma... but it's not entirely true all things considered.
