I stopped at the post office today and mistakenly pushed the 'panic' and had a time of it trying to figure out how to turn it off. (Never had this happen before) But I was wondering, does something like setting off the panic button, does it set a code in the PCM?
If the car is Armed and you open a door alarm won't shut off with fob
Try it. Lock the car with a window open using the fob. This arms the alarm. Reach in. Unlock the door with the black plastic handle near the inside door handle and then open the door. Alarm goes off. Panic button, lock, unlock with the fob does not shut off the alarm. Put the ignition key into the ignition and turn the ignition on. The alarm will stop blowing the horn. Now you are back to normal.BIGHANK

That's good to know BIGHANK, but I think the OP said he accidentally pushed the panic button on his fob and then couldn't get the horn to quit sounding off. Here's what the owner's manual says about the panic button:
Remote Alarm
When you press the horn button on the remote keyless
entry transmitter, the horn will sound. This panic
alarm button will allow you to attract attention, if needed.
If the horn alarm sounds, there are three ways to turn
it off:
• Press the panic alarm button again on the remote
keyless entry transmitter.
• Wait 90 seconds, and the horn will turn off by itself.
• Turn the key to any position in the ignition,
except OFF.
