Thanks for all the comments guys. I have driven 05 C6 Z51 and it was great but I struggled to find the extra power but I like the interior of the 6.
I have not driven a Z06 only been a passenger but it just felt different to the C6, and I love the commemorative Z06
I have a 02 Coupe Z51 manual at the moment so it would be a trade from this.
Just interested to know what people thought of the two cars

The C5Z has a more immediate feel to it. The throttle and steering response feels quicker with the C5Z then with the C6. Then of course there is also that great exhaust note with the C5Z.
After 4 years with an 04 CE version of the C5Z, last fall I replaced it with an 09 C6 with Z51 and dual mode exhaust. The performance of the two cars are roughly equivalent, but the feel of the two cars are different. I like the C6 as daily driver and I am happy that I made the switch, but between the two the C5Z is the bargain and as stated above it has a more immediate "I'm ready to get up and go" feel.
I wouldn't hesitate to get the C5Z and in particular the 04 CE. A time may come when you are ready for a change. I'm very happy with my C6, I prefer it as a daily driver, but I wouldn't want to have missed the C5Z experience.

Personally, I'd go with the C6. Unlike others here, I've never been a fan of the C5 fixed roof coupe. Plus, the C6 is quieter and more comfortable with roughly the same performance. You can also get a C6 convertible if that floats your boat.
