I'm glad I got it done as my 01 has 43,100 on it, up from the 32,500 I got the car with back in February and with all the stop and go traffic I drive in every morning/evening, it was due and the tech said that the fluid needed it, it was not nasty or brown, but not the nice fresh color that I have now.
The filter was changed out as well, so for the filter, the price of the oil and the $95 for one hour of labor, the overall price was well worth it. $240 total.
The car feels like it shifts much better. Of course after paying, it had better, at least in my mind.

Did you get it done at a Chevy dealer or a independent shop?
I'd like to know where most owners go for these types of services. We took my friend's car to a shop and they didn't tighten the driver side front wheel lugs.. when I took a look, I could finish unscrewing the lug with my bare hands.
It's fine for DD's, but I'm afraid to take my vette to these places. Even dealers I've seen horrible stories (like that Lotus that fell from a lift and almost stood vertically).

I took my car to Corvettes of Houston, they were actually cheaper than the dealer.
