Default A4 burn out

Hi guys

I have a newbie question on a standing start burn out with an automatic. Do most of you accomplish a burn out without foot on brake and raising the RPM? I can spin the tires and leave a small black mark, was hoping for more. The car has a 3.42 rear end, cold air and cat backs and predator tune.

Thanks

Have a line lock installed very cheap and a good way to do a burnout.

P.S. You should have purchased a M6...

Probably the best solution around, a "line lock", if you're pushing an A4.

Thats odd. A small Black mark. Are you just heating them up in one spot? Or are you actually tying to do a burnout?
My wifes 98 convt. A4 will fry the tires for about 60ft or more until I let off the throttle.

foot on the brake and put the pedal to the floor and hold the brakes until you want to go

The other absolute modification you could do, install a 3200-3500 stall convertor. A must do for the A4...

Don't do this.....will cause premature trans failure, in time.

Hmmm, odd.

I have an A4, with a 3:15 rear. Now I had a tune done from ECS. On a hot day, all I have to do is put it in D3, take the traction control off and mash the throttle. It'll spin until I let off. This is with runflats and on a 90 degree day.

I feel your frustration. I can't even light up the tires a bit. I think my 99 buick regal had more jump off the line.

I live just outside of Denver and I'd hate to say it but a corvette just doesn't have enough power. The a4 makes it even worse.

If a Subaru or vw with a turbo pulls up next to me I won't even try to race them. I don't want to be embarresed.

From what I've learned the only way to do a proper burnout is to get more power. For me it is going to be installing a supercharger and upgrading the transmission.

Definitely a line lock. And Shawn at fastbird has an excellent product and is a stand up guy. I have one of his line locks on my 01 A4. I have 3.42 gears and a 2800 vigilante stall. My recommendation, though if you are getting an aftermarket stall and want the best street driving manners would be to get a Yank. The vigilante is a little loose on the street.

Alright, forgive my ignorance, but what does a line lock do, exactly? Just lock up the front brakes so the rear wheels can spin freely? Is that it?

(never mind, google is my friend). Looks like a nice mod to have if you do a lot of burnouts.

Hmmm, that doesn't sound right. What rear end do you have? 2.73? 3.15? Also, when was the last tune up done?

You may want to clean the MAF sensor too.
