C6 Factory wheels

Can you put factory C6 straight onto a C5 or do you have to do some spacers?

This is very timely for me since I would like to put C 6 wheels on my car. I was told the OE wheels would not fit because of a fitment conflict.

I put OEM C6 on my '99 Coupe and it worked with no problems at all. I decided to use a 1" wheel adapter because I personally like the wheels to sit flush with the edge of fender as opposed to them sitting deep in the wheel well.

I have them and used 3/4" adapters. All was good for a few months then 3 studs on one adapter broke and 2 off of the other adapter broke. Now I have them on with no adapters and they sit in a little farther than I like. I will be going with a 1/2" spacer and longer studs.

the fronts fit identically.
the rear wheels on c5 and c6 have way different offsets
u need 1" spacer in the rear for them to meet the rear fender the same way as stock although i suppose some members didnt use spacers and u could still physically drive the car
super sunk wheels is a big no no says the fashion police
