Got this reply from the seller on the auction site:
"I am surprised that this listing has caused so much concern. If I have made an honest mistake, I apologize. I have described the pin as it reads: C5. I used to work for Chevrolet in a design department. I do not remember exactly when or how I came by it. I do know that on many occasions the engineering departments would create a pin specific to the group working on that particular vehicle. Many of my pins were never intended for the public and never sold as an aftermarket item. I hope this helps. I am certainly not trying to deceive anyone. I offer a complete money back offer on all of my auction items unless stated otherwise."
Having worked in a large corporation this sounds totally legit. And, possibly of interest to anybody who has owned both a C4 and C5. I put in a small bid for the fun of it. Too bad the guy does not know more details about the origin of this pin --perhaps someone on the Forum does...
So to all you doubters --
