Hi All, Just took delivery of my first Vette. It's a 2000 Red Convertible, automatic with 47,000 miles. I have put around 200 miles on it, and I'm already hooked. What a great machine! I have already run across some issues that need to be taken care of, but they all seem to be typical problems, ie rocking seat, power antenna, and flasher bypass. Now for the first of what I am sure is going to be many questions. What is the module under the driver side cover in the rear? I was just cleaning up the trunk area and found this. Both plugs are unplugged. Should they be plugged in? Thanks in advance. I look forward to learning everything I can about my new Sports Car from everyone here.

Might be a CD disc changer. It was an option.
Oh.......and don't call your Vette a "baby".
It's a Sports Car.
P.S.
Welcome to the madness.
Sorry for the slip up. Its not a cd changer it has one and it is in the middle compartment of the trunk. This is in the driver side compartment, and is behind a cover.
It is the control module for F45 adjustable shocks. If it's handling OK and not throwing codes, it means that this option was probably removed from the computer when the previous owner installed standard shocks. Do NOT plug it in, as it will automatically re-install into the car's systems and, potentially, cause you problems and cost $$ to remove again.

I guess the real question is....Are the $300 set better?
Bilsteins are great shocks and the ride is fantastic.
The OEM ones with active handling have sensors and valves that adjust the stiffness of the shock when it feels movement on the roll axis. That is why they are expensive.
