Frost King is good if you are concerned about reducing sounds at a frequency of about 8khz and above. The high frequency nasty sounds from your wheel wells when going over torn up concrete, for example, can be reduced. Tire drone and exhaust drone - not really. It also weighs virtually nothing compared to more serious material.
You will need something like luxury liner from secondskin audio to tackle lower frequencies.
Or lead. Use lead if you are serious about killing low frequencies. I'm not kidding.
ps - dynamat type material is not a sound deadener. It's a viscoelastic damper. You know how you hit a metal panel and it goes PONG-riiiing! - Dynamat reduces that effect.
And you know how you hit a plastic panel, say, in a corvette, and it... Wait, it doesn't ring. It just goes thud. What does Dynamat do for a plastic car again...?
Adding mass haphazardly *does* reduce sound, but actual sound barrier products give superior results for the same money. See above: luxury liner.
I know this sounds silly but I doubled over some bubble wrap and put it in the rear storage areas. It's free & I noticed a difference an a recent
1,100 mile road trip. I will prob do FK in the future but that's it for now.
I used the new product from Madvette Motorsports. He is a forum vendor here.
There is a noticeable sound reduction especially on the highway.
The kit came with pre cut and labeled pieces.
