Sticky Headlight bucket

The left headlight on my 2001 does not open. If I manually start it, then it will work for a while. Is there a relay somewhere that might be acting up? When it is not working, I don't hear the motor trying to run so I don't think I have a gear problem.

IMO I'd check the gears anyway just to be sure. If the gear is failing, it may be grabbing the motor so it can't rotate properly.
