When adding extra audio power stuff, it's real important to keep it charged up. Get yourself a good charger to keep on it, when not driving it daily. Well worth the investment.
Can a weak battery cause random codes and little demons of that nature?
Absolutely! I began getting the "service traction control/ABS" message when my battery starting getting weak. I replaced it about a month ago and never got the message again.

Do NOT be surprised if your little message comes back sooner or later. A good fresh battery is always a good thing, but many time the ABS issue is unrelated to a battery with demons.
Yes it can. It caused me problems and a new Optima fixed them all.
I had two Red Top 75/25 Optimas in the car in the past three months and the ABS codes were frequent. For the most part the ABS 1214 code did not appear when the switch was turned on and allowed to cycle thru its warnings prior to starting. The Red Top voltage would be in the 10's and the service manual says 10.6 v is critical to the ABS module.
After Auto Zone called Optima they told us that the D75/25 yellow top was their recomendation for the Corvette. I have not had a light since the changeover and got the battery cheaper because of a rebate.
Startup voltage is generally 12.2 vdc.
Bill Curlee has a GREAT sticky on the tech forum and his advice should be followed if you do have a problem.
