I sold my C6 in March and purchased a new Honda Civic. What a big mistake. Honda now is sold and picking up a 1999 C5 that has been very well maintained, price- $12K. Awesome condition and fully stock- at least for awhile anyway. Try to post pics this weekend. Sometimes Craigslist can be very good for bargains. Seller is being transferred to the UK via Uncle Sam and wanted to unload it.
Sounds like you corrected your error. Actually, I wouldn't mind having a Civic for a daily driver so I could stop putting as many miles on the Vette. Sold a Civic and an Accord to get my wife a new Pilot two days before I picked up my Vette at the Museum (R8C delivery option). So far, in 6.5 years, she's tried to drive the Vette twice.
Hope you enjoy the C5! Post pics and info when you can!
My current state of mind is Mid Life. 58 and having to many grand kids.
Sold the C6 that I had over $8K in mods on, because I wanted to help pay most of the prepaid college funds that I started for a few of my older grandkids. Putting my right foot down on the 140 HP Honda didn't produce tire smoke, only put 1800 miles on it since April 4th, never saw above 55MPH. Got a good a geat deal on a well maintained
car whose owner even changed his synthetic oil every 3k miles. Has the smoke colored glass roof and is all stock with an automatic tranny. Going to miss my paddle shifters from the C6 though. Just over 100K miles on it.
Saturday at noon I will be in Land O Lakes, Fl riding home in style. Try get pics up this weekend. Black Vettes are cool.
Picked up the C5 today and took it on the highway home. Looked down and the speedo said 120. Holy crap, as I looked around for radar, but the speedo was set up on KM not MPH, wow, I changed that when I got home. Nice car and very well maintained, just need to clean it up a little more to suit my standards. One little wear spot of the side bolster, but my C6 wore through in a few month in the same spot. Minor FOB issue that was fixed by holding the lock/unlock buttons at the same time, now works perfectly. Engine is spotless, just missing a few horsepower that I was used to in the C6, but that will soon be fixed. Try to post pics once I clean it up my way, great paint for a 10 year old Florida sun car, just have to enlarge those four tiny exhaust pipe holes for some a little larger in size and sound.
