Default HID Fog Lights

I bought a set of HID 6000k from JW Motoring and am really impressed. What is the general feelings on the HID Fog lights?
How hard are they to install? and photos would be helpful. I have a set of Z06 screens in place. Will they defuse the light too much?

Thanks

Super easy.

I did this write up last year: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...post1566224084

The screens shouldn't diffuse the lights. I have them on my car, but don't think I've driven at night with them in.

Your fogs could also benefit from some aiming: http://www.c5forum.com/diy/fog_lamps.php

very easy...
most are plug and play...
drive on ramps, remove the access panel and they are right there waiting to be changed....

Did mine from up on top with no problem. Raise headlight, disconnect battery (you do not want the headlights timing out and retracting on your arm ) and reach down in.

The most challenging part is deciding where to mount the ballast. If you decide to go HID headlights at a later date, you'll need a place for a second ballast.

For foglights, I usually mount the ballast to the inside of the corrisponding frame rail using 3M mounting tape

I mounted the ballast for the fogs with the same bolt that holds the fog lights in place. I just turned the ballasts sideways. Nice fit. Works well.

Do you have the regular ballast or the slim digital one? Just wondering for that set up, if you need slim to make it fit.

Thanks. So there's really no need to pay the extra bucks for the slim ballasts then?

That photo should also give the OP a good view on where to mount

I got mine from JW Motoring. I have the 6000k set and a pair of 3000k bulbs for the winter.

Where did you mount the second ballast for the Light Cannons?
