I don't store my Vette in the winter, but I don't drive it much then either.

I would changethe fluids and then put about 100 miles on the new stuff to get the parts coated with fresh fluid, then store.

I think it would be better to have fresh fluids on the parts as they sit.

As a general rule,I change my oil, filter, clutch & brake fluids every 3-4k.The trans, diff, power steering & coolant get it every year.

Default 9 out of 10 doctors recommend.............

well I don't actually know if 9 out of 10 doctors change their fluids before the winters storage prep but most mechanics and all the manuals I've ever read say so.

Take engine oil; the acids and carbon, ect from the combustion process would just sit there etching away at all the metals

Oxidation itself particulary with the ethanol in the fuel can harm engines, not as much anymore . But fuel dilution to the engine oil leaves water moisture ( ethanol) lying in your crankcase

I change all my vehicles oil before the winter storage , most don't see 3000 mile annually but it cheap insurance.
