That's because you have a 2002...The 97-99 fobs were different (and unique to the C5) because of the passive entry feature...

I just bought one (stock GM unit) for a 2003 Tahoe on line for about $40.00 shipped. Included programming instructions so it would operate the memory seats. I still had the #1 remote. If you need a remote, PM me and I will send you the website address.
The battery clip for my vette remote broke and the remote stopped working. Took it to the dealer for warranty replacement - it was replaced no charge but the ticket showed that it would have been $65 if I had to pay for it.
