I've had my car for 3 weeks almost and up until tonight, I didn't have a chance to take it through the canyons.
I went through 3 sets of canyons over here and it felt really nice. I learned a few things about the car and I wish my fat-*** friend hadn't made every freaking excuse to go with me so I could have learned the car better.
One thing I noticed, but I don't know if it was due to the fact that I had an extra 300Lbs in the passenger seat was that ever little bump in the road caused my front spoiler to scrape the ground. I may have to go again, 300Lbs lighter to find out if I need stiffer shocks. I also ended up having my front wheels push and my back wheels were coming loose in some tight hair-pins. A little scary. I'll definitely need to get some good tires.
My brakes were fantastic. A huge upgrade over the stock Trans Am brakes, and a slight upgrade over the brakes on my 300zx (they're not all stock). No body roll at all. It was amazing. The car just handled every turn great.
Yeah. This really was a great route. Scary parts were going down hill through the corners... I'm not a big fan of that just yet! LOL But going upwards through the canyon, I was handing the pavement it's ***!
Yeah that was a problem for me as well when I first started driving on the mountains. Just gotta brake earlier and don't be afraid to get in to the gas at the apex.
Yeah... You're right... I need to practice a bit. I'm going to be out at Willow Springs practicing a bit. I'm sure the front isn't going to push as much with my 300Lbs friend not riding shotgun. I think that was really scaring me the most going down hill.
