The last set I bought over a year ago came with decent tires for 600. they were very nice with only slight rash on one wheel.

mine are in perfect condition. I am letting them go for 500.00 but they are probably worth a little more.

Don't let your original Alcoa's leave your hands..... They are rare, and light weight. Going off Ebay your only going to get heavy weight wheels that will make your car feel sluggish.

Get your factory Z06 wheels powder coated black if you want that look. You can always get them powdercoated back to original factory color in the future if you want to. This way you keep the light weight...

Just my 2 cents...

They are worth the same as 02-04 speedlines. $400-600 depending on condition. I have seen people ask as high as $700...not worth it unless it comes with some decent tires.

They're worth $100. Where do I send the check?

I'm with Toque. The Alcoas are the better looking of the two wheels IMO. I'd keep them if I were you.

No... you are thinking about it all wrong. Wheels are "rotating mass". Its totally different than weight just sitting in your car. I tried a set of 18/18 wheels and tires before. Wheel/Tire combo weighed 10lbs+ more per than my stock wheel/tire. So I added 40lbs+ more rotating mass adding them all up. I'm not a race car driver, I don't race my car, but i'm "very" in tune with how my car drives, and I felt a BIG difference in how the car accelerated, turned, and generally how nimble the car was. To put it honestly it felt like I was dragging a large brick behind my car. I pulled those heavy suckers off within a few days, and went and got my stock Z06 wheels painted the color I wanted. I felt my performance come back after putting my stock wheels back on big time.

See if a friend has a heavier set of wheels he can loan you to drive around for a day. See if you are in tune with your car enough to notice the difference.

I'm not trying to sway you one way or another. Just a friendly caution that you might experience the same thing I did. Its not a nice feeling knowing you spend your hard earned $$ and slowed down your favorite ride....

I will never sell my stock 04 Z06 wheels. They are the lightest set out there... I have searched a lot and its very tough to find a wheel as light as below.

01 ZO6 17x 9.5 19.6 lbs. 01 ZO6 18x10.5 21.4 lbs.
02 ZO6 17x 9.5 19.2 lbs. 02 ZO6 18x10.5 21.0 lbs.

The 01 wheels are slightly heavier as they are forged while the 02 and later are spuncast.

Your forged wheels are rare and getting harder and harder to find.

Did you forget to post the stats your speaking of ? I little heavier you should be ok. Adding 5lbs/wheel you should feel a slight reduction. Adding 10lbs/wheel your going to feel it for sure.

I've seen posts in the past that have indicated that the addition of un-sprung weight is like about an 8 to 1 ratio. So adding wheels that are 5lbs heavier each would be the same as adding 160lbs to the car.
Also this would depend on weather or not you increased or decreased the diameter of the wheel as well. Adding weight to a 14" wheel would have less of an effect than doing it to a 19" wheel.

Does anyone have any formulas for these equations?
I would really like to have facts on this issue over opinions.

Good advice here from Toque. 100% correct. Stock wheels are hard to beat for weight unless you want to pay megga bucks for magnesium types. The guys who race like the 01's better as they are forged/stronger. I say keep them as well.
