stock radio issues
i have an 01 zo6 that i recently bought...it cam with an aftermarket sony head unit with an amp and a sub that works great just not my cup of tea..the harness had not been cut it and appears to be a professional install...i bought a stock radio from another board member that came from an 02 model...i just installed it and powered it up and it only shows the time...nothing on the tuner and does not respond to any inputs other than the clock and setting the time...i pulled it back out and rechecked all my connections and everything looked good...what do i need to do next? thanks for the help

By NO means is this an area of expertise,,but you may want to look into the speaker situation. Factory BOSE systems use a proprietary lower ohm speaker. After market systems require either a ohm adapter to reduce the power OR in most cases they replace the speakers,,and they may not be compatible with the stock unit. Also there is a security lock on the stock unit that if activated doesn't let it be used till unlocked,,don't ask me how it works,,but I know it's a pain,,there have been threads on it in the past.GOOD LUCK!!

there was an adapter in the harness stepping down to the bose speaker and the speaker i looked at looked to be stock...the radio doesnt say loc or anything but i will do a search on the theft loc...the red led your talking about is it in the wiring connectors or is it seperate?...thanks
