I have a 2004 Convertible that has had a rattle coming from the passenger side of the dash area since new. I've taken out the glove box etc to try and locate this noisey rattle but have not been able to locate it. The rattle has the characteristics of a plastic rattle but I'm open to any and all suggestions. Perhaps someone out there has experienced the same problem.
Thank you for willingness to share your expertise.

Hi There:
Does the rattle exist with the top up or down?Have you looked in the pass. side footwell? Any push pull pins missing or loose on the pass side cowl?Operate the pass side door really fast & stop quickly?Sun visor secured on the pass side? Is the wiper arm tight? Any difference if the pass. side window is up or down? Are the 4 bolts that hold the upper & lower door hinge on tight? 2 bolts per hinge.

Hey Frank:
Did you find anything? I was thinking about the defroster vent in the center of the dash.Look at it from the outside of the car & see if there is screw, nut, ball point pen, penny etc. in there. From inside the car see if you can move the vent. What ever it is, it came from the factory as you bought the car new. Does running the a/c make a difference?

I checked from the outside as suggested but didn't see anything. I'll try to get to the inside to see if its loose or anything else obvious. I may have to do some dissasembly of the console panels or possibly remove the glove box door / compartment to get a good look at whatever components are possibly loose, etc.
Thank you!
Frank
I'm having a similar type of problem in one of my vehicles. I'm thinking I'm going to take apart some things and have one of my family members go for a ride and see if they can pin-point the exact area. Perhaps you can do the same.
