I bought a new shift boot, took off the old one now installing the new one. I fit the gear selector piece into the boot, now I cant figure out where exactly the orange indicator fits in. It is attached to the shifter and protrudes about 3/4". There is a half moon clear plastic piece I assume fits right over the light bulb.
Yep, clear plastic piece fits over light, the plastic ring glues inside of the boot (make sure it it right side up and the right direction) yes you can put them in upside down and backwards. Don't ask how I know. Once that is glued in attach the biit inside out with a new ziptie, roll it down, snap the plastic ring back into the two clips, roll the boot elastic under the shifter section then button it all back up.
Not sure if that answered your question or not.
boot and boot ring attaches to gear indicated plastic piece. The as attached to the housing with a clear half moon piece over the light. My question is there is an orange L shaped piece attached to white tube, which slides on the shifter. I assumed the orange piece was to show the gear you are in. How the heck do you install it?
