Help !!!! 2004 C5 will not start after washing....
I cleaned the car today and also the engine compartment.
All of a sudden while drying the car, the radio came on and the key was in my pocket. When I open the drivers door, the chime rings like I have left the key in the ignition. When I turn the key to start...it does NOTHING. I have disconnected the battery and I have tried jumping from my SUV and nothing is helping. I even disconnected both battery cables and touched them together to drain any residual voltage in the computers hoping it would help reset them and still no help.
Everything works except the panic and the horn when locking with the key fob. Anybody heard of this and have any ideas ???
Could this be a grounding issue and how can it be cleared up ??
Thanks

I had something similar happen to mine. Not realizing that ECU was below the battery, I washed out the battery area. Afterward, the car would start but would die as soon as I engaged the transmission. It was like this all that day but the next day everything was fine. Hopefully, yours will do the same thing after it has had time to completely dry.
Check and clean the grounds. Some are ground pack connectors like the one on the frame near the windshield washer fluid housing. One in the aft section of the passenger rear wheel well. Those are pack connectors as an example.
It did dry out after a couple of hours and everything seems to be fine now...
Thanks for the input and info about the ground locations. Will not wash out that area with a hose again.. I did get a code reader from a neighbor and it had NO error codes to report which I thought was strange.
GM did not do a good job in water proofing.I can use my pressure washer under the hood of my Dodge truck and I have never had a problem.I once cleaned under the hood of the vette with just a light garden hose spray rinse and caused all sorts of problems/codes until it dried out.

Why did you get a code reader from your neighbor??? You can check your own trouble codes on your DIC display on your dash.
Do a search of "trouble codes" and read how to do it.
