Default stuck after washing

Hi, Has this happened to anyone else? After I wash my 2004 Z06, If I don't drive it for a few days, when I start out back out of garage the car is stuck in place, like the wheels are rusted in place. I have to give it some gas to get it to move. Just letting the clutch out the car wiil stall. When it starts to move you can fell it break loose.
Thanks

Did you have the emergency brake applied when parked?

Sounds like a brake caliper is sticking. When you wash it it "freezes" to the rotor after it is parked. Next time this happens, and you get it to finally pop from freezing, stop and check your rotors. The one that freezes will leave a mark on the rotor that looks like an imprint/outline of the pad in question.

How different are the brake setups, pads and rotors, between the two cars?

Sounds as if the 04 may get a bit of rust build up after you wash it.

YES! I have done this several times. I wash my car then pull in garage to finish detail. If I don't drive it for about a week, when I do go to pull out, it is stuck. I actually had to get out and push it back. I initially thought it was tires stuck to garage floor from soo much Armor All even on the edges. I think its is the water between the rotors and brakes though. I guess it creates a lil rust and sticks?

I've had this happen as well! It's not too often that I wash it and put it in the garage without driving it around the block, but every time that I have done this the brakes have been stuck in position and I had to give it more gas than usual to unstick them. It's a bit unsettling when you hear that pop, but it hasn't caused any problems over the years, so I'm not worried.

That's the key - take it for a quick spin and you won't have that problem.

The high metallic content of the ZO6 brake pads actually begins to rust to your rotors, not really a problem though.Dont know if you alllowed it to sit for weeks like that though.

happens all the time if you pull right in and set the brake or don't allow the water to drain out of the rotors enough...try backing up and then pulling forward first to drain the water out of the rotor vanes..they hold more than you think
