Well, a couple weeks ago I took the wifes SUV to a tournament. She took the vette to a doctors appointment. As typical of most women, she just HAD to get as close to the parking curb as possible and ran my ACI splitter into the curb. Cracked the one mounting tab, busted the center and pushed it in and down.
Took me a week to get to it, and another week to get it finished. I re-inforced the busted tab with carbon fibre, and also strengthened the back side of the lip with CF as well. A little body work, and a lot of sanding, priming, painting, wetsanding, and polishing. Now she's back on and good as new.
Lesson learned......keep the wife out of the vette if she is going anywhere near parking curbs!
Also, found this in the passenger footwell while shampooing the carpets:
I did the same thing THREE times all by myself; I finally learned how to handle the ACI spoiler. I thought I would see you today at the Marion Pa. show, where I met you last year, I believe. Doug Your car looks good, by the way.

I spent all day working on a fuel pump on an all original 56 today Doug. By the time I crawled out form under the hood, it was 4 o'clock and I had totally missed the show.
How was it there today? Take home any hardware, like last year?
Yeah, you did an excellant job. Can't tell it was ever injured. But I pretty sure your little frind in the passengers footwell most likely did all the 'ruff' work !
Congrats nice job. It never fails how many times I try to be careful, on occasion I dry dock my front fascia on a parking curb. Now I try and back in as much as possible.

Besides being extremely HOT, there were total of 181 cars/bikes but only 15 vettes; I got a first for the '88 to '09, obviously they didn't go by generations this year. I doubt I go anymore if that's all the vettes will be there, although It was probably just too HOT; It's a 106 mile trip for me.
