Ew. Don't shop at Walmart. As a business owner I can say that Walmart does nothing good for local economy in any area. The rule of thumb is that for every $.30 you save at Walmart, $30.00 is taken out of the local economy. There are other places you can get great deals on motor oil, personally I have boycotted Walmart and tried shopping at locallly owner business's in my area. My not make a big difference but hey, someone has to do it.
Has anyone noticed that Wally World seems to be discontinuing the Mobil 1 oil filter for our cars.. Last time I was there they had no M1-107 filters. Glad I stocked up some time ago... Any suggestions as too alternative oil filters?
I read on one of those websites that test different brands of oil filters, that the mobile 1 filter and the K & N filter are the same internally. I know a lot of people won't use the K & N filter because of the worry of the nut on the end of the filter sticking down to far and coming in contact with something while driving and causing a leak, but I've been using the K & N oil filter for over 3 years and I have never had even a single scrape on mine when taken off.

I'd rather throw $30.00 out my driver's side window, than spend $1.00 at Wal-Mart.

Used to. That's the same reason I switched from Castrol Syntec. When Edge came out the Syntec dropped the spec.
As for Walmart they seem to have decent prices on all their oils. Rumor is their house brand, Super Tech, is bottled by Pennzoil/Quaker State. You won't find a cheaper synthetic. The Super Tech filters don't appear to be made very well in my opinion. They use a coil to hold the filter media in place where the better made ones use a perforated steel insert.
I printed it from the Mobil website, but they may have removed it by now. I still have the form on my desk, but have not decided if I want to buy more Mobil 1 since I switched to Valvoline Synpower for reduced wear.

Not looking to start oil wars but I thought I'd let the Mobil 1 users know....I saw the 5 quart jugs marked down from $26 to $22....didn't look like a permanent price drop....but better than paying $6+ a quart at other stores,
Bought a jug for $22 last week in WI. Amazing price.
