odd sound after lights retract?

odd sound after lights retract?

All, New to me, 2000 C5 has a whinning sound for about 10 seconds after the lights are retracted. It seems like a minor problem to me. I am told it is probably a vacuum or relay problem. Any thoughts?

Thanks, this is my first vet and is currently under warrenty for the next 30 days through Carmax. I plan to make them repair it, but I sure would like to be more knowledgable on this issue.

Thanks, I will do so. I heard about these gears before, but the relay/vacuum idea/issue was unfamiliar to me. I check it out and reply when solved. Thanks again.

But since you have a warranty, let them do the repair - even if it involves just replacing the entire headlight motor.
