Default 6 Speed Drain Plug

Is there a drain plug for a 6 speed xmission, if not what is the best way to git the old fluid out.

Lower, rear passenger side there is a drain plug. You'll need about 3.5 quarts to refill.

I was quite pleased to find drain and fill plugs on both the M6 and the rear end. Not so on either part on my shark!! I finally bought a kit to drill and tap the rear Diff on it ,,still debating on the muncie 4 speed. Gotta love the C5!!! As I recall the 3/8's drive fits the plugs perfectly,,at least on my 2000!!

Just did the drain and refill on my 04 this past Sunday. Drain plug is as described above, on the passenger side of the trans at the very back and bottom. Refill plug is on the driverside about the middle top to bottom and front to back. Yes the end of a 3/8 drive fits the square hole and mine took just over 3.5 quarts to refill. Get yourself a small hand pump that goes on the top of a gallon jug and it makes the refill pretty easy. Manual says to torque the plugs to 23Ft/lbs. I was not able to get that amount of torque. ( Afraid to wedge the plug and crack the housing but I'm thinking its at about 18ft/lbs) I'll check it again in a week or two........

Hi There:
amsoil sells a nice hand pump for about $12.I used it on the differential fluid change. You can use it on the tranny too. Works really nice with no mess. Only fits on amsoil bottles qt.,gallon, 2 1/2gal sizes. There is a local dealer near you. do a google to find one. p/n is g-2039 You,ll need a t-55 torx for both plugs.(differential 2qts.)

Don't laugh,,but if you have an air compressor you can Rube Goldberg a system to force feed it. I dropped the output to 5 lb(maybe less, gauge almost at 0)cut the bottle tip off and forced 1/4"ID plastic tubing(about 3') and punched a tiny hole and forced the tip of a pistol grip (the kind with a ling thin pencil tip) into the hole in the bottom edge of the bottle. You can support the weight of the bottle with the air gun and just give short "squirts" of air,,gently pressurizing the bottle. The fluid goes right in in about 45-60 seconds! Done this several times and works like a charm!! BE SURE to remove the foil seal on the bottle first!!:cheers :
