Lately while driving to work or just cruising down the highway, it seems as if no C6'ers wave back. Could it be they are above the C5s, or is it just the heat and won't wave back because they would have to roll the window down. I'm a vert, so heat - no heat, no rain and I got the top and windows down. Just about every other C5 I see waves back. Anyone else notice this?
You have to remember that some, not all of course, but some of the C-6's on the road are first time 'Vette owners and as such are not aware of all the baggage that comes with owning a Corvette. And for a small percentage of them the C-6 is nothing more than the current flavor of the month, and when the lease is up they move on to something else. I guess you could call them Corvette drivers, not Corvette people.
I wave to every Corvette I see and I find that I only get about 1 in 5 Corvette owners that will actually wave back. It's all generations though, I still come across a lot of C3, C4 and C5 owners that simply don't wave. So I can't single out the C6 owners as non wavers at all. I've probably had just as many waves from C6 owners this year as from other generations.
I get about 60/40 waves back from all gens of vettes I see. Although some guy in a C6 drove right past the front of my car while I was getting gas the other day so I leaned down to look in his window and wave at him and he didn't wave back but then he spun the tires as he pulled out of the gas station. he was obviously better than me so I wasn't offended.

As I walked out of 7-11 awhile back, a beautiful C6 parks next to me. As I walked to my drivers door I told the older gentleman getting out of the C6 "Beautiful car". He looked at the vette, looked at me, told me to take my daddy's car home, then walked in the store. I was at a loss for words...it took me a second to actually realize what he said
Oh...and I'm 30yrs old.
To me a Corvette guy is a Corvette guy. It doesn't matter what generation he's driving, or if he waves or not. I wave to very Corvette I see. If they wave back, great. If not, no big deal.

You should have waited for the jerk to come back out of the store and tell him to Fock himself.
Some wave here, but most of them already think they are better since they drive a newer model than ours. Its the truth, but most people are out for themselves (at least my generation) I'm 23, sucks.
I remember when I first got my C5. It was my first Vette and I was just learning about the Corvette waive. Perhaps many C6 owners are new to the Vette scene as well.
I also remember taking a cruise with the wife shortly after getting the Vette. We were on a neighborhood side street cruising pretty slowly when another C5 convertible approached us head on. The driver was a smokin' blonde and we waived at each other. My wife gave me the cold stare and said "Who was that?!" I told her about the Corvette waive and that I felt "obligated" to waive back. She still teases me about that....
